OUR STORY
Unwined 2020 was borne out of a universal human need to slow down to indulge in rituals of self-care. This company was created by – and for – transformative reflection and elevating moments. For me, there is one restorative place that fills my soul with peace and vitality – and that magical landscape is Italy. This inspired collection is my loving attempt to transport you right alongside me into an experiential moment filled with luxurious aromas and sensations right at your fingertips...the “Essence of Italy.”
Fragrances are inspired by the natural wonders of Italy, and the hand-made décor, lovingly crafted by the rustic, simple, old-world charm that truly embodies the Italian lifestyle. In Italy, there is a meaningful legacy of indulging in small, daily rituals. One might simply light a candle – and recognize in this, a moment of spiritual illumination.
This collection is inspired by my own Italian wanderings and by the beauty I see all around me whenever I’m there. Unwined2020 was founded to aid in the intentional practice of ‘being well.’ My mission is a gentle appeal to empty your mind of the day’s chatter and revel – body, mind, and spirit – in the quiet Italian embrace of Il Dolce Far Niente - the sweetness of doing nothing. My own wildest dreams began in Italy, and notwithstanding some bumps along that gorgeous, rustic road, it brought me here – which is its own dream come true. I invite you to join me on this journey and to take the moment you deserve to unwined as you embark upon your own.
MEET THE FOUNDER
Jennifer Follari, Founder & Chief Artisan
Jennifer is a dreamer, a doer, an artisan. A seasoned professional with over 20 years of fragrance industry expertise, she has served in corporate marketing, sales, and fragrance & product Development across all brands – from luxury such as Estee Lauder and Tom Ford Beauty to specialty retail at Bath & Body Works. Jennifer spent 10 years at Givaudan, one of the most illustrious fragrance houses in the country. It has been the joy of her corporate career honing her olfactive skills alongside some of the top perfumers in the world.
Because Jennifer is a dreamer, a doer, an artisan, the prestige and glamour of these iconic brands simply could not stifle that ember within. Enamored by her travels through Italy and committed to creating more transcendent moments, she set out to explore what the wine industry had to teach her. She obtained her Level 3 WSET Certification in Wine & Spirits and thus began the ‘let’s rethink it all’ era of her professional career and personal well-being. She returned to Tuscany (this time, eyes wide, armed with humility and a flicker of hope) leaving behind the corporate hustle in pursuit of personal peace and professional joy. Inspired by her love affair with Italy, the transportive power of fragrance, and with her craft-y wits about her, she began building a company committed to the pursuit of mindfulness, mental acuity, and creative expression. Jennifer counts herself among a fellowship of makers who infuse emotional well-being into their artisanal creations. As such, she views her products as intentional acts of service.
Following in the footsteps of her beloved father, a respected business owner and true inspiration, her entrepreneurial spirit began to catch fire. And it was here that she wisely mused: ‘Ok, let’s just see how this all unwineds,’ and, Unwined2020 was born. Jennifer spends her days living with curiosity, crafting, and creatively unwineding in her Montclair, NJ studio.
